Run or walk, Northern Michigan's most colorful & magical 5K, being held in Mackinaw City {Rain or Shine}! Bring all your friends and family to run a color-blasted 5K, where you get showered in safe, Eco-friendly, plant-based cornstarch dye every kilometer; or you may also do the 1 mile walk. Then enjoy a colorful & magical party afterward immediately following, where you can Tie-Dye the Sky (not to mention all your friends!) in this ultimate celebration of life, friendship, fitness, and fun!

The Zoo-De-Mackinac is a weekend of fun with two huge parties and great bands, a lot of sunshine, one awesome island, a boat ride under the mighty Mackinac Bridge, and one of the most scenic bicycle rides in the country! During this weekend in Mackinaw City over 400 cast members will re-create events that took place between the French, British and Indian tribes, on June 2, 1763. This historically rich event will take place for the 51st consecutive year. The Fort Michilimackinac Pageant is the longest running, free historical Memorial Day performance in the Nation. Visitors will meet famous Indian Chiefs: Miniavavan and Matchekewis of the Ojibwa tribe, and Wawatam who becomes a blood brother to Alexander Henry and later saves his life.

Put your running shoes on and meet us in Mackinaw City for the 14th Annual Mackinaw Memorial Day Bridge Race! This is a unique opportunity as only two times a year runners are allowed to run the "Mighty Mac" ! The other possibility, being the Fall Colors Bridge Run held in October 2017. Runners must register in advance and be able to run a minimum of 12 minutes per mile to race in the event. Time: 6:00am to 12:00pm

A brief and informal Memorial Day observance at Fort Mackinac Post Cemetery on Mackinac Island, to pay tribute to the soldiers who served at Fort Mackinac. Soldiers will assemble at 10:00 a.m. at Fort Mackinac. They will march to the cemetery, perform a short ceremony and salute, and return to the fort. Open to the public.

Celebrating Mackinac’s lilac collection began in 1949. The idea was to bring people to the Island to enjoy a great horse drawn parade amidst the lovely lilacs that fragrance the Island in June. What began as a one day event called the Mackinac Island Lilac Day has blossomed into a ten day festival.

This year theme is Mackinac Island! A team of judges votes on all parade entries with this theme in mind as well as other criteria for selecting those who will receive the coveted parade trophies.

5 miles from Mackinaw City. This internationally acclaimed event takes place Just 5 miles from Mackinaw City. This well known St. Ignace Car Show was formed in 1975 and the first show was held the last Saturday of June 1976. 134 vehicles were on display that year. The show continued to grow each and every year and by 2004, 2500 collector vehicles were on display with 100,000 spectators observing.

The Chicago Yacht Club is proud to have a longstanding tradition of yachting excellence. The Club's most famous event is the Chicago Yacht Club Race to Mackinac, which is the longest annual freshwater sailing race in the world. Boats will pass under the Mackinac Bridge in Mackinaw City heading East. Perfect view from area hotels like Best Western Dockside, Hamilton Inn Select and Clarion Hotels in Mackinaw City.

Skippers may choose to race north on Lake Huron from Port Huron, race the 235-mile Shore Line Course up the Michigan coastline or the 290-mile Southampton Course, which directs sailors toward Southampton Ontario, and then to the finish line at Mackinac Island. The race is viewable from Mackinaw City.
