Great Lakes School of Wooden Boat Building The Great Lakes Boat Building School, located in the beautiful Les Cheneaux Islands of northern Michigan, offers a diverse program designed “to teach quality wooden boat building skills, to preserve craftsmanship and continue our Great Lakes heritage”. From summer workshops to a full-time, nine month curriculum, the school will feature classes in basic woodworking, joinery, basic design and lofting, restoration, repair, small craft construction, and modern day materials and techniques. Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum Exhibits tell the stories of wrecked ships & lives lost on the Great Lakes. Highlights include Edmund Fitzgerald memorial featuring the ship's bell, 1861 Lightkeeper's Quarters, Theater, Museum Store & sweeping views of the Shipwreck Coast. Haunted Theatre Family Fun attraction. Screaming Fun for Everyone Hessel Ridge Golf Hessel Ridge Golf has taken its place as one of the most picturesque layouts in the Upper Peninsula. Its plush fairways, treelined boundaries and perfectly groomed greens accentuate the beauty of Hessel Ridge. The course is an 18 hole layout, set on a ridge above the town of Hessel. Historic Downtown Mackinac Island Once the hub of the bustling fur trade, Mackinac Island served as a commercial depot for half a century of fur trappers and traders. Historic Mill Creek Originally constructed by Scotsman Robert Campbell in the 1780s, Historic Mill Creek is one of the first industrial sites in the Great Lakes.
